RCA’s LGBTQ+ Decision – Dr. James Payton
Payton says the HSR claims the 2017 decision in the RCA makes this matter settled and binding. Payton’s view of the HSR is incorrect. The HSR states the 2017 decision indicates that homosexuality is included in the Heidelberg Catechism’s statement on unchastity. That is true.
Committee Membership – Rev. Leonard Vander Zee
The matter of who served on the committee is a matter of history. Have the results of biblical study from the last 50 years produced sound arguments for same-sex marriage? If so, please bring them to our attention and we will post them in a prominent position on this website. Has the committee not dealt adequately with any of those sound arguments? If so, please point that out so that all can gain from those insights.
Having examined each of the four videos in this section it is our conclusion that these videos do not provide substantive objections to specifically Recommendation D of the Human Sexuality Report. We find no reason for synod to decline adopting that recommendation.
